Michelle Obama gaff will hurt the campaign

By: John Keitel

UPDATE: The only coverage of this was to say that Cindy McCain got political. She was demeaned by statements like, I didn’t know she could talk. As for the explaining away of Michelle’s comments, she qualified her statement by continuing to say “I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and not just feeling alone in my frustration and disappointment. I’ve seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues and I feel proud.” She is also out of touch comparing “the struggles of a farmer in Iowa are no different than whats happening on the south side of Chicago.” The two parties could not be more different. Michelle is speaking for those who have disdain for this country, liberals.

February 19, 2008 on the campaign trail Michelle Obama was speaking to a crowd and said, “hope is making a come back. Let me tell you for the first time in my adult lifetime I am proud of America Not because Barack is doing so well, but vecause America is embracing hope. Only Obama has what it takes to fix America’s soul.”

The Obama campaign tried to say that is not what she meant to say. Michelle is a Harvard graduate and she doesn’t know how to use the English language. I am not buying it I think that she like most liberals despise this country. Is she proud of her country or does its soul need fixing? If it is so bad leave.

It is not bad, look at her and her husband, ivy league graduates. Products of the American system, probably affirmative action and complaining about their life.

Is she not proud of defeating communism in Russia? Not proud of the way America came together after 9/11? Not proud of the fact that the most powerful woman in media is Oprah? Not proud of the fact that she can stand up their and say this without being imprisoned? Not proud of the fact that she was accepted, went, and graduated from Harvard? Is she was proud of the fact that The Democrat party, Bill Clinton, left Rwanda to genocide 1.5 million people? Is she was proud that her party of gave 2.5B to education and no child left behind gave 26.5 Billion? Not proud of the fact that we have given more aid to Africa than ever? Not proud of the fact that because of this funding HIV/AIDS is not a death sentence in Africa anymore? Not proud of the fact that because of this funding children and families in Africa are getting mosquito nets and medicine putting malaria on the decline in Africa?

This was not a misspeak and the American people will not like it. It will cost the Obama’s votes.

  1. You should realize that you have misquoted Michelle Obama: She said “…or the first time in my adult lifetime I am REALLY proud of my country” (see )

The word “REALLY” suggests that she remains proud of her country at all times, but the intensity of the pride is elevated because of the primary voting

So it is surely not the gaff that you and other are making it out to be

  2. [...] Digital Press: Michelle Obama gaff will hurt the campaign [...]

  3. Really, OK “really proud” This word does not make a difference and to say it does is disingenuous. This is a Harvard graduate, ivy league and all that and you, the campaign, and her supporters still have to try and explain away her disdain for the U.S.A.

  4. Barack Obama was the president of the Harvard Law Review. That is not affirmative action. That is intelligence. Only an idiot would deny his obvious intelligence even if he didn’t agree with his candidacy. You’re clearly somebody who thinks that anything black people achieve is “just affirmative action.” Actually, that argument is an excuse for your own failure. Don’t blame affirmative action just because Harvard would never touch you or your knuckle head with a ten-foot pole.

  5. First the Obama’s where part of the affirmative action movement. Barack’s intelligence is not in question pertaining to his Harvard Law Review, that is obviously a nice college accomplishment.
As for somebody who thinks that any thing black people achieve is “just affirmative action” is in direct conflict with Martin Luther Kings teachings. MLK taught that we should be judged by merits not race.
For your information my family is half black.
I have made my first million, second million, and third million, along with providing jobs for people all without Harvard.

  6. She’s a narcissist and even if she’s proud, she’s still constantly judging white people, as if her being a milionaire and getting into Harvard and Princeton on affirmative action were not enough. She always wants, but, as best I can tell, has given nothing back to the white people who have helped her along the way.

  7. Did anyone notice that when Michelle Obama said the word “REALLY” in this video, it was partially cut out, though you can still see her lips move and understand what she actually said. If the people who posted this video didn’t think that word made a real difference in the impact of her speech, then why would they go out of their way to alter the video and misrepresent her intentions?

  8. Don Imus didn’t get the benefit of the doubt when he said “nappy headed ho”. People of color didn’t believe him when he said that it wasn’t racism but something said in poor judgement. Sharpton and his posse did everything but crucify him. Which they would have done if they could. Imus’ work for Harlem charities did not buy him any consideration. Actually, affirmative action is a excuse by which people of color still can’t achieve without it. When the playing field is leveled (POC jump in here) maybe then white people will give a black man credit for his accomplishments rather than saying it was due to affirmative action. While there is no denying Obama’s intelligence there is no denying affirmative action is an excuse for saying I cannot do it on my own!

  9. I am not sure why the skip in audio but the word “really” changes nothing because she clarified her comment in the next lines. “I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and not just feeling alone in my frustration and disappointment. I’ve seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues and I feel proud.”
No misrepresentation Michelle Obama’s Harvard word are clear and lasting. I will say it again this will hurt the campaign.

Why did the media bury it today?

  10. Right on! If this was a Republican candidate or even Bill Clinton the media would not stop covering it. Of course this will probably be played as a racist attack, not a matter of pride for our Country.

  11. White people are the problem or didn’t you get the memo.
