A FULL LOOK AT WILLIAM (BILL) AYERS AND THE WEATHER UNDERGROUND TERRORIST GROUP

By: John Keitel

WARNING EXPLICIT VIDEO!

When Wm. Bill Ayers turned himself in after 9 years as a fugitive (When FBI case failed due to illegal wiretaps) he said, ”Guilty as hell, free as a bird—it’s a great country.”

Part 1 of 9

These clips show the kind of friends Senator Barack Obama, (D-Illonois) Democratic Presidential Nominee, pals around with. This is a well done documentary on the Weather Underground by Sam Green and Bill Siegel. It is filled with interviews of William Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Mark Rudd, Naomi Jaffe, and others. In their words then and now.

Part 2 of 9

Benardine Dohrn, wife of William Ayers, was the lawyer and Nation Secretary of the Weathermen. “White youth must choose sides now, we must either fight on the side of the oppressed or be on the side of the oppressors!”

In 1969 several hundred Weathermen moved into cites around the country to put the groups politics into action.

Mark Rudd, “A time when we would move off campuses, establish ourselves in working class neighborhoods doing organizing among working class youth.”

Ayers 1969, “And so I went first to Detroit and then was involved in several of the Summer programs,  but yeah we built collective houses. It is was kind of intensive moment of trying to transform a group of relatively privileged students into fighters and steal ourselves for what we saw was the coming upheaval.”

Rudd, “The gut check, where we’d challenged each other to be more violent and to be therefor more revolutionary or to be more disciplined to give up our bushwa luxuries”

Part 3 of 9

Rudd, “bring the war home was our slogan. Our strategy was that we would make the war visible in the United States that people couldn’t just ignore it. it would be Here!”

Naomi Jaffe, “Violence can mean a lot of different things. We felt that doing nothing in a period of repressive violence is itself a form of  violence. That’s really the part that I think is the hardest for people to understand, That if you sit in your house and live your white life and go to your white job and allow the country that you live in to murder people and commit genocide and you sit there and don’t do anything about it, that is violence.”

(3:12) The days of rage was staged in Chicago. Ayers arranged it. Walter Cronkite “Last night they armed themselves with sticks and chains and rocks and surged through the streets of the gold coast on Chicago’s north side to carry the fight to the enemy, the rich.”

Ayers walking down the same streets with bat in hand says, “We thundered out of the park about 10 or 12 a breast and we headed down this way and the first building we came to was a bank and we trashed every window in the bank. It was all glass big plate glass windows, that was like the signal that was like Pavlovas bell.”

Amazing that the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground start whining about being harassed by the police. They declare war on the United States and cry when they respond with force, idiots.

Part 4 of 9

(2:40) Panthers lawyer, Skip Andrew, “Anyone who went through that apartment and examined the evidence that was left there could come to only one conclusion And that is that Fred Hampton, 21 years old, and a member militant, a well know militant group was murdered in his bed probably as he lay asleep.” There was a 15 minute gun battle, how did he stay asleep in his bed?

(3:13) Dohrn current day, “We felt that the murder of Fred required us to be more grave, more serious, more determined to raise the stakes and not just be the white people that wrung their hands when black people were murdered.”

(4:00) Ayers, current day, “This was really the way America was it was willing to kill and murder…”

(6:35) bar man7777, “When you feel that you have right on your side you can do some horrific things.”

(7:25) “Some people felt literally the bigger the mess we could make the better. That is what ever it cost, whatever destructive activity we could do against the US Government the better.”

(7:43) Mark Rudd unpublished memoir, “At that point in our thinking there were no Innocent Americans at least not among the white ones. They all played some part in the atrocities of Vietnam. If only in the passive roles of ignorance, acquiesced and acceptance of privilege. All guilty all Americans were legitimate targets for attack. We wanted this country to  taste a tiny bit of what it had been dishing out. just like the passive Americans we derided I acquiesced to this terrible demented logic. not only was I willing to take the risk and suffer the consequences but more importantly I was overwhelmed by hate I cherished my hate as a badge of moral superiority.”

Part 5 of 9

Three explosions kill at least three Weathermen in their apartment while setting up a bomb. Karma.

(3:39) Ayers, “When this explosion happened a group of us disappeared from site and this was really the official beginning of what came to be called the Weather Underground.”

The members whine about having to say goodbye to the parents to go underground.

(7:50) Ayers current, “We where very careful from the moment of the townhouse on to be sure we weren’t going to hurt anybody. And we never did hurt anybody. Whenever we put a bomb in a public space we had figured out all kinds of ways to put checks and balances on the thing. And also to get people away from it. And we were remarkably successful.”

Part 6 of 9

“There is a bomb in the ferry building it will go off in 15 minutes. They are doing this in defense of Jackson (a prisoner killed while trying to escape) Be sure to have the harbor police  clear the area.”

Bombings:

May, 1970 National Guard Headquarters, response to Kent State killings.

June 9, 1970 New York Police Headquarters, for police repression.

June 16, 1970 Presidio Army Base San Francisco, to mark 11th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

February, 28 1971 The US Capital, to protest the invasion of Laos. “It is a monument to US domination over the planet.” “They bombed the Capital to bring a smile and a wink to all the kids who hate the Government.”

October, 8 1970 Queens Courthouse, in solidarity with New York prison revolts.

October, 8 1970 Harvard Center for International Affairs, to protest the war in Vietnam.

This is not protesting, this is war against the United States.

(7:57) The Brotherhood of eternal love paid the Weather underground to break timothy Leary from prison and hide him on his way to Algeria. Timothy Leary, “I escaped with the help of the Weather Underground.”

Bernardine Dorhn, “Now we are everywhere. and next week we We are not just attacking targets we are bringing a pitiful helpless giant to its knees. Guard your planes, guard your colleges, guard your banks, guard your children, guard your doors!”

Part 7 of 9

FBI goes undercover to infiltrate the Weather Underground. Documents were stolen from the FBI’s field office and leaked to the press. Again the press is on the side of those who want to over throw the United States of America, so they publish them.

By the mid 70′s the Weather Underground was seen more as a cult. So they cut a movie to revive the movement.

May 18, 1973 Bombs the 103rd Police precinct in New York, response to killing of a 10 year old black youth.

September 1973 Bombs ITT headquarters i New York, response to US-backed coup in Chile.

March 6, 1974 Bombs Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare offices in San Francisco, protesting the forced sterilization of poor women.

May 31, 1974 Bombs Office of the California Attorney General, Response to killing of 6 members of the Symbionese Liberation Army.

June 17, 1974 Bombs Gulf Oil’s Pittsburgh headquarters, response to its actions in Angola.

January 28, 1975 Bombs the State Department, response to escalation in Vietnam.

Part 8 of 9

“We’re very small organization relative to the task to be done and we can’t discuss exactly the size. Were small but we don’t feel weak. We want a make a revolution we think there has to be a revolution.”

Walter Cronkite says, “From the Underground, that radical left wing group, the Weatherman…” Radical! thanks Walter for making them as bland as possible.

June 16, 1975 Bombs Banco de Ponce in New York, in solidarity with Puerto Rican cement workers.

Part 8 of 9

(4:49) Rudd, “The end happened because, most all leftist political organizations when they reach the point of relevancy turn on themselves, turn in on themselves. And kill each other.”

(7:40) “Mark Rudd the fugitive radical turned himself in today to authorities in New York city, after years of hiding. He was the leader of the Weather Underground back in the sixties. But he’s 30 years old now and the world has changed.” Media already showing sympathy for him.

(8:59) Dorhn current, “So I, came to that decision in the summer of 80. Finally, and once I made the decision It was just a matter of holding my nose and going through with the surrender.”

(9:24) Rebellion is inevitable and continuous. Resistance by every means necessary is happening and will continue to happen within the United States as well as around the world. And I remain committed to the struggle ahead.”

Part 9 of 9

(1:14) “I would do it again. I would like to do it better, differently, smarter.” ‘It was a precious, precious opportunity.”

(2:27) Rudd, “My mixed feelings. My feelings of guilt and shame. These are things that I am not proud of and I find it hard to speak publicly about them. And to tease out what was right from what was wrong. I think that Part of the Weatherman phenomenon that was right was our understanding of what the position of the United States is in the world. It was this knowledge that we just couldn’t handle, it was too big. We didn’t know what to do. In a way I still don’t know what to do with this knowledge. I don’t know what needs to be done now. And it’s still eating away from me just as it did 30 years ago.”

William, Bill, Ayers is an author and professor of education at the University of Illinois. Bernardine Dohrn is a professor at Northwestern University Law School and is Director of the Children and Family Justice Center.

Barack Obama, Democratic Presidential Nominee, had a fund raiser in the Ayers living room to kick off his political career in Chicago. Obama co-founded the Woods Foundation with Ayers. If your friends with terrorists how do you fight terrorism as a President?

Here is William Ayers own words in his comic strip.

“A dramatic form of armed propaganda!”

And then he includes US citizens as who he meant didn’t do enough with his widely quoted phrase printed in the NYT on September 11, 2001.

I guess he doesn’t remember the millions of citizens that lost their lives because the US pulled out of Vietnam without VICTORY!

Ayers, “I don’t think violent resistance is NECESSARILY the answer. But, I do think opposition and refusal is imperative.” AYERS WILL STILL RESORT TO VIOLENCE IF HE FEELS ITS NECESSARY!

Obama and Ayers and Dohrn are neighbors and friends. Obama is not fit to be President of this great country.

  1. Ward Churchill, self-claimed Weatherman; I remember a backgrounder of his WeatherMan 1968 indoctrination (like ‘twisting-in’ for the Luddites in 1815 UK) included uni-gender campouts, etc. Sicko poseur. Ayers and Dorhn (who replaced the pink mist of the first girlfiend, sic) beat the rap due to an ‘illegal’ wiretap, and also were pardoned by DollarBill Clinton … The brown-nose media must be marginalized, with the Liberal-Progressives: they cannot be reached across to, nor compromised with. They must be dumped into the ash-can of history … I work at a High School and the straw-poll open caucus yesterday had The One by 100 to 1 with the students, thanks to beaming head-patting ‘teachers’ …

  2. What does it matter, neither candidate is a good choice for America, both are trash or lower than trash.

We do not choose our president, delegates do, and we get to choose out of who they allow. And the amount of delegates were a lot lower this time due to both parties breaking party rules and getting punished into using superdelegates.

When a state holds their convention before super tuesday, they lose delegates and the head person at that states convention gets the votes and or decides who gets delegates rights, it puts power in the hands of a few instead of the right amount. This is a power play to maintain control and why Ron Paul did not have a chance at getting the needed delegates, he was robbed because state conventions broke rules intentionaly.

Just a way to keep the sorry people in power.

  3. Don’t trust the polls, there are enough people around that remember this. If they get the message that terrorists are taking over the White House the Democratic party will be defeated soundly.

  5. Thank you to all the Vets over a Vietnam Views.

Also a great post noted Weatherman Underground words that need to be noticed as well.

UPDATE: 10/20/08 A post quotes the Weather Underground in “Ossawatomie 75′-76′:
“Theory and ideology are important tools, and we should make study of Marxism-Leninism an important part of our work. Marxism-Leninism is a necessary guide for both understanding the contradictions of class society and developing correct revolutionary strategy. How will an organizer know if a particular theory is correct? Practice. Work among the people and learn from them. It is the oppressed and exploited people who understand the wretchedness of this system in detail, and it is the people who will create the ultimate solutions. Waiting to begin until the theory is fully worked out is to create the certainty of failure.”
